Hockey Rivière-du-Loup and its partners from the school clubs, the Sphinx from Rivière-du-Loup High School and the Albatros from Collège Notre-Dame, are proud to announce the arrival of 25 complete Bauer equipment sets dedicated to the youth of our region in order to promote their introduction to hockey.

According to the president of Hockey Rivière-du-Loup, Mr. Bruno Pelletier, the realization of this project required several steps in recent months. Mr. Pelletier admits that he is very satisfied with this happy conclusion and salutes the collaboration of Hockey Québec who gave the club this equipment donated by Bauer for the benefit of its young clientele. For many parents, this will be a great opportunity for their children to benefit from the appropriate equipment free of charge in order to learn this winter sport. One thing is certain, the arrival of this equipment will not be done on the sly this Wednesday, February 24, since several partners and stakeholders will meet to unload the 53-foot trailer from Groupe Morneau, which joined the project from the outset by offering free transportation. Certainly, public health standards will be rigorously applied. Among the participants were members of the Hockey Rivière-du-Loup Board of Directors, parents, representatives and some youngsters from the two school-clubs, as well as an administrator from the Vieux Loups, Hockey Rivière-du-Loup’s social mentor club. Parents who wish to register their child or get more information can contact Mike Maclure, in charge of the CCM Albatros Academy at mikemaclurehockey@gmail.com and 819-434-5458, or Terry Michaud, in charge of the Sphinx field hockey program at michaudt@cskamloup.qc.ca and 418-862-8203 ext. 2740.

This initiative is another in a long list of innovations put forward by Hockey Rivière-du-Loup and for which the association was able to count on the collaboration of school structures, among others. Other improvements are being developed and should be announced shortly. Mr. Pelletier concludes: “This new offer will be beneficial for the youth and their parents, of course, but it will also allow our respective organizations to count on a larger pool of young players and to accompany them throughout their development thanks to quality training that will allow them to flourish.”
